Making bacon is messy, but necessary! Confining that mess inside the air fryer means no more wiping all the grease off of surfaces from splatter!
Why this recipe works
Bacon rocks and is awesome by itself, with eggs or pancakes, on a breakfast bagel sandwich, or crumbled on top of your favorite casserole.
Making bacon in the air fryer is great for 1-2 people, or for making in batches. Ideal for when you need crumbled or chopped bacon for a recipe, such as our Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole! It’s best to limit the number of strips to 4, or whatever will fit in your air fryer basket without crowding, and in a single layer.

- If you like, line your air fryer basket with air fryer parchment paper. We don’t find it necessary and it doesn’t make a noticeable difference in the finished bacon.
- Air Fry at 385 F for 11 minutes, flipping the strips half way through.
- Remove bacon to paper towel lined plate to drain.
Frequently Asked Questions
Using air fryer parchment paper is super helpful with clean-up for lots of recipes. However, we have found that it doesn’t really matter with bacon. Whether you use them or not, you will need to clean the air fryer basket and tray.
The only benefit we can see is if you remove the bacon and leave the parchment in the basket until the fat solidifies. Then you can remove it and throw it away. Air fryer parchment has holes in it for air circulation, so much of the fat will drip through anyway.
You can also line the bottom air fryer tray with regular parchment. This way the fat that does fall through will collect there and can be tossed when it hardens.
Making bacon in the air fryer is so easy to do, and there’s no fat splattering all over your stove! Great for making small batches of bacon or just when you have a craving!
