Once you figure out how to cook bacon in the oven, there’s no going back. Much like air fryer bacon, it’s an easier method of making crispy, delicious bacon in a hands-off approach. Think of the air fryer version as a great way to make small batches and the oven method as a way to make large batches.
Why bake bacon instead of sizzling it in an open pan? Because it’s a lot quicker and way less messy. So say goodbye to grease splatter all over the countertop and oven grates. Simply line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, bake for 10-15 minutes, transfer to paper towels to drain, then wrap up the foil and toss the greasy remains straight into the garbage.

BACON – When it comes to what kind of bacon you should use, the answer is simply whatever is your favorite. We stuck to classic-cut bacon, but thick-cut works as well. The bake time will depend on the thickness of your bacon slices.
SEASONING – The seasoning is completely optional. Over here, we like to season it with different flavors. We’ve used Montreal Steak Seasoning, a bourbon smokehouse flavored seasoning and many others. Play around with it and experiment with different seasonings if desired, or, simply omit the seasonings altogether.

I microwave on a microwaveable paper plate lined with paper towel and bacon cover with paper towel . No more than 2.5 min at a time. Simply throw away plate and towel. Non-greasy cooked bacon is crispy and good. Watch so it doesn’t burn. Might need to microwave for 1 min. At a time more till done the way you like it. Watch!!!

I’ve been baking bacon in the oven for several years now. We love the bacon that we get at a small grocery store in our area that slices the bacon from a slab to the thickness we like best. I place the bacon on a baking sheet (size determined by how bacon I want to cook)…not foil or parchment paper. I bake in a 400F oven for 20 minutes and it’s perfect every time! I let the bacon grease cook and then pour it into my “Southern Olive Oil” jar which I keep in the fridge! The bacon is not greasy and is wonderfully crisp. A winner all around!

We have been cooking our bacon like this for 25+ years!! Only way to cook bacon!! And it usually cook flat, not all squiggled up!!
I do need to clean the oven more frequently and if you have glass in the oven door, wipe it down when cool.. I tried the twisted bacon with thick bacon and I had to use toothpicks to keep it twisted. Next time I will try the thinner bacon!!
