- Crush the candy cane with a kitchen mallet or rolling pin and place in a small bowl that is wide enough for the rim of your martini glasses to dip into.
- Melt your chocolate in the microwave in a small bowl, heating for 30 seconds, then stirring, then reheat as needed in 30-second increments.
- Delicately swirl your martini glass edge through the melted chocolate.

- Immediately run the martini glass rim through the crushed peppermint to allow it to stick to the rim of the glass.

- Set aside for the chocolate to dry as you prepare your cocktails.
- In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add your chocolate liquor, cream, peppermint vodka, cocoa powder, and chocolate syrup. Shake well and then taste to adjust the flavoring, as needed.

- Pour the cocktail into your decorated martini glass.

- If you’d like a little swirl on top, carefully pour some cream in a swirl shape overtop of the martini. Then drag a toothpick or skewer through the design to make it even more decorative.

Nutrition
The recipes on this blog are tested with a conventional gas oven and gas stovetop. It’s important to note that some ovens, especially as they age, can cook and bake inconsistently. Using an inexpensive oven thermometer can assure you that your oven is truly heating to the proper temperature. If you use a toaster oven or countertop oven, please keep in mind that they may not distribute heat the same as a conventional full sized oven and you may need to adjust your cooking/baking times. In the case of recipes made with a pressure cooker, air fryer, slow cooker, or other appliance, a link to the appliances we use is listed within each respective recipe. For baking recipes where measurements are given by weight, please note that results may not be the same if cups are used instead, and we can’t guarantee success with that method.

Soooo yummy and decadent. As advised I used regular vodka and a little peppermint extract brought it a Christmas party last night. It was a huge hit. I’m making it again for a party tonight. Thank you for a delicious recipe.

It came out really yummy. No chocolate bark needed. My BFF and I agreed, it was like chocolate milk for grown-ups. I served mine it little edible candy cane shot glasses. Delish!

Can this be made ahead of time and stored for the next day?

You could, but since there is cream in it, I would suggest whisking the mixture before serving.
