Cream Cheese Fruit Dip
When I search the internet for cream cheese fruit dip, it seems to be flooded with recipes that use Marshmallow Spread or Cool Whip. Nothing against those products, but for this recipe, I wanted to use everyday-ish ingredients to keep the added sugar to a minimum. So, I like to use one of my favorite, go-to combos, which is cream cheese and yogurt (the everyday ingredients), and then add a small amount of powdered sugar and almond extract (the “ish” ingredients).
My favorite thing about this cream cheese fruit dip recipe…is that you can reduce or increase the sugar and fat amounts to your liking. I like this dip on the not-too-sweet side, so I use a fraction of the sugar that many fruit dip recipes call for. I’m also all about reducing my fat calorie consumption, which is totally doable for this recipe by substituting less-fat versions of the cream cheese and/or the yogurt. I’ve done both and can hardly tell the difference.
Do you want more good-for-you summer recipes that double as party food or anytime snacks? My Smoked Salmon Spread uses nonfat Greek yogurt, but you’d never know it as you devour it. Also, my Creamy Avocado Ranch Dressing is another healthy-ish recipe that’s super versatile and can be used on all the things you love with Ranch dressing.
