This Cucumber Tropical Smoothie packs in tropical fruits, leafy green veggies, and of course fresh cucumber. This frothy breakfast drink will get you fueled for your day without the taste of a typical green smoothie.
Cucumbers have a ton of health benefits, especially if you eat the skin where most of the nutrients are held. In fact in this smoothie recipe you will not peel the cucumbers, just be sure to wash them well.
Cucumber Tropical Smoothie
If you’ve known me for any amount of time, you’ll know that I love smoothies. Their ability to get me up in running in the morning is unparalleled. My usual green smoothie involves a banana, some spinach, a splash of milk, and whatever fruit that’s about to go bad in my fruit bowl.
But today we’re changing it up a bit with the addition of tropical fruit and crisp, fresh cucumbers. I love this tropical watercress smoothie, so I already knew this cucumber smoothie would be delicious.
To make this Cucumber Tropical Smoothie you’ll need:
- ¼ of a pineapple, peeled and cored
- ½ of a papaya, seeded
- 1 banana
- ½ cucumber, unpeeled
- 1 cup spinach
- ½ cup canned coconut milk
- 1 ½ cups ice
Kitchen tools you may find useful:
You could just throw everything in the blender and call it a day (especially if you have one of those high power blenders). For the rest of us, I learned a trick to get perfectly smooth green smoothies. Blend your milk and spinach first, until you have a frothy green milk.
Then throw everything else in and continue blending. Doing things in this order ensures that the spinach breaks down completely (meaning you don’t taste the spinach + don’t get any in your teeth!)
Along with the huge list of smoothie recipes, we also have an awesome recipe for Green Smoothie Popsicles, for a fun alternative that’ll keep you cool on hot days. As well as Cherry Yogurt Popsicles, Mint Chocolate Popsicles, and Raspberry Mango Popsicles!
