This spooky spiderweb cocktail is spun with a sticky-sweet marshmallow web on top of a creamy vodka and coffee liqueur base.

Why this recipe works
A creamy, rich White Russian gets a Halloween-themed facelift in this spiderweb cocktail recipe. Don’t let its sweetness fool you, it has a bite! Made up of coffee liqueur, vodka, cream, and finally topped with a melted marshmallow web stretched around the rim, it’s truly the best Halloween cocktail for parties!
The marshmallow spiderweb is sticky and a little messy to stretch over the glasses, so I find it easiest to prepare the cocktails first, then add the web once ready. Chocolate spiders are a fun addition here, but you can just as easily top with a plastic spider – so long as no one eats them!

Ingredient Info and Substitution Suggestions
COFFEE LIQUEUR – Choose your favorite coffee liqueur, the obvious choice for us would be Kahlua. But any brand will do the trick. Do note that Kahlua is typically sweeter than other coffee liqueurs, so be sure to take that into account when choosing.
VODKA – We opted for regular vodka, but you can easily substitute with marshmallow, vanilla, coffee, or caramel flavored vodkas.
CREAM – Heavy cream makes this cocktail rich and indulgent. You can substitute with half-and-half, milk, or a non-dairy option such as oat milk or coconut milk. I would recommend sticking to heavy whipping cream or half-and-half for the creamiest results, though.
SPIDERWEB – The spiderweb topping is made from mini marshmallows, though you can substitute with regular-sized marshmallows if needed. Simply melt them – but don’t burn them! It should only take about 20 seconds in the microwave. Cut regular-sized marshmallows smaller to make the melting process easier.
How to Make a Spiderweb Cocktail
These step by step photos and instructions are here to help you visualize how to make this recipe. You can Jump to Recipe to get the printable version of this recipe, complete with measurements and instructions at the bottom.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and pour the coffee liqueur, vodka, and heavy cream over the top.

- Give it a good shake and then strain into two coupe glasses.

- To make the spiderweb, microwave the mini marshmallows for 20 seconds, or until soft.
- Dip your fingertips into the soft marshmallow and spread the melted marshmallow around the rim of the glass, stretching from one side to the other. You can wet your fingertips with a little bit of water so it isn’t quite as messy.

Frequently Asked Questions & Expert Tips
Heavy whipping cream is best here, so that the cocktail comes out nice and creamy. It’s entirely doable to use milk, but you won’t get the same results (color, texture, flavor). Half and half would be my recommendation if you don’t have heavy cream on hand.

Serving Suggestions
Serve your spiderweb cocktail at Halloween parties, pumpkin painting parties, or a spooky book club night.
They’re especially fun in these skeleton Halloween martini glasses!

The recipes on this blog are tested with a conventional gas oven and gas stovetop. It’s important to note that some ovens, especially as they age, can cook and bake inconsistently. Using an inexpensive oven thermometer can assure you that your oven is truly heating to the proper temperature. If you use a toaster oven or countertop oven, please keep in mind that they may not distribute heat the same as a conventional full sized oven and you may need to adjust your cooking/baking times. In the case of recipes made with a pressure cooker, air fryer, slow cooker, or other appliance, a link to the appliances we use is listed within each respective recipe. For baking recipes where measurements are given by weight, please note that results may not be the same if cups are used instead, and we can’t guarantee success with that method.
