Only 4 ingredients and a toasty hot oven are all you need to whip up a batch of roasted Brussels sprouts. Their creamy center is met with a crispy charred exterior.
Why this recipe works
Roasted Brussels sprouts are quick and easy to prepare with a drizzle of olive oil and a dash of salt and pepper. As they roast in the oven their natural sugars release creating an almost sweet and savory taste with a crispy coating.
Not only are they healthy for you and loaded with antioxidants, but a quick roast leaves behind a charred exterior that really elevates these sprouts. You can get the same effect with our air fryer Brussels sprouts recipe as well if you have multiple things going in the oven and want to save space.

Ingredient Info and Substitution Suggestions
BRUSSELS SPROUTS – Choose Brussels sprouts that are bright green in color with tightly wrapped leaves.
ADDITIONS – We like to use garlic salt, but regular salt works just as well. On top of the salt you just need black pepper and olive oil. This creates a good base for any other additions after cooking such as parmesan cheese, cooked bacon, crumbled feta, etc.

What about using frozen Brussels Sprouts?
Amanda Formaro says
Roasting frozen Brussels sprouts is possible but they won’t be as good. The texture is different and frozen sprouts are sold whole, not halved. We highly recommend fresh. But if you must use frozen, preheat the oven with the baking sheet in the oven. Once preheated, remove pan, add sprouts, and roast about 15-18 minutes.
