Irish coffee is a delicious dessert cocktail that’s made with hot, strong coffee and Irish whiskey then sweetened with brown sugar and topped with lightly whipped cream.

How to Make a Classic Irish Coffee

- Fill a glass mug with hot tap water to bring the glass to a warmer temperature. Empty the mug.
- Pour the hot coffee into the prepared glass mug, should be about 3/4 full.
- Stir in the brown sugar until dissolved.
- Stir in Irish whiskey.
- To keep the cream from combining with the coffee, you need to whisk the cream. It should be thick and frothy, but not so thick that you cannot pour it.
- Gently pour the thickened cream over the back of a spoon over the mug. The cream will sit on top of the coffee.
- Serve hot.
