These easy chicken bacon ranch sliders are layered with shredded chicken, melty cheese, ranch dressing, and crispy bacon. One of our favorite warm, melty party appetizers to date!

Why this recipe works
Chicken bacon ranch sliders make one heck of a game day appetizer, or really any party appetizer for that matter. You can even meal prep these for lunch throughout the week or make them for dinner. I mean, seriously, how do you go wrong with the motherlode of all concoctions – chicken, bacon, ranch? Add a little cheese to the mix, sandwich it between some soft slider buns, and baste it with a buttery ranch mixture. Now we’re talking big business, baby.
My family loved these. They disappeared quickly. My youngest loved the individual portion aspect of these sliders, plus they have bacon, and we love bacon around here. They’re small and easy to hold, which makes them great for football parties, potlucks, or get-togethers of just about any caliber. Great for when you have more mouths to feed and a single chicken bacon ranch sandwich won’t cut it.

Ingredient Info and Substitution Suggestions
CHICKEN – Rotisserie chicken is great for this recipe, but you can also use leftover chicken or cook up some breasts and/or thighs. You can shred or slice your chicken. If you really wanted, you can substitute with deli meat chicken. But the extra volume from shredded or sliced chicken makes all the difference!
BACON – I like mine a little crispy for some crunch, but cook the bacon however you wish. I can show you how to cook bacon in the oven for less of a mess on the stovetop. Feel free to swap with turkey bacon if that’s your fancy.
RANCH – You can use prepared Ranch dressing in a bottle, or make it from the powdered packages available at the grocery store. We do use a small amount of powdered Ranch dressing mix to brush on top, so just reserve a teaspoon of powdered mix for that if you make your own dressing.
CHEESE – We prefer cheddar (mild or sharp), but you can of course swap it with your preferred cheese. Monterey Jack, Colby Jack, provolone, or pepperjack for a little extra kick are all great options here.
BUNS – With the popularity of sliders, grocery stores have begun carrying actual slider buns in addition to Hawaiian rolls, which were traditionally used for sliders. Companies like Village Hearth, Lewis Bake Shop, and Pepperidge Farms are just a few of the companies now making slider buns. Choose your favorite!

Frequently Asked Questions & Expert Tips
Sure, you can prepare the chicken bacon ranch sliders as directed, without the butter ranch topping, and store them covered in the refrigerator up to a day in advance. Allow them to rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes before baking. Just before placing in the oven, add the butter ranch topping and bake as normal.
Yes, you can freeze the prepared sliders that have not been baked yet. Wrap with foil, then place the sliders in a large ziptop bag or an airtight container. Freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight and bake as normal. I would suggest letting the sliders come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before baking.
Store your cooled sliders in an air-tight container kept in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in a toaster oven, air fryer, or oven at 325F until warmed through (about 10 minutes or so).

Serving Suggestions
Serve your chicken bacon ranch sliders warm from the oven, while still toasty and melty. Optionally pair them with potato chips, French fries, sweet potato fries, or fresh veggies like carrots, celery, bell pepper slices, and a side of ranch.

Nutrition
The recipes on this blog are tested with a conventional gas oven and gas stovetop. It’s important to note that some ovens, especially as they age, can cook and bake inconsistently. Using an inexpensive oven thermometer can assure you that your oven is truly heating to the proper temperature. If you use a toaster oven or countertop oven, please keep in mind that they may not distribute heat the same as a conventional full sized oven and you may need to adjust your cooking/baking times. In the case of recipes made with a pressure cooker, air fryer, slow cooker, or other appliance, a link to the appliances we use is listed within each respective recipe. For baking recipes where measurements are given by weight, please note that results may not be the same if cups are used instead, and we can’t guarantee success with that method.
