Made with all the classic cookie fixings like melty chocolate chips and tender dough, this small batch of chocolate chip cookies for two is even sweeter when shared with someone you love. Plus, they’re done in under 20 minutes!
Why this recipe works
Buttery, chewy, soft, chocolate chips cookies for two are great for those days you’re craving a cookie but don’t want to make an entire batch or if you’re are trying to scale back on over-indulging on 10 cookies. There’s no need to deprive yourself of it, just make a small batch!
As with many chocolate chip cookie recipes, one of the best parts is having leftover dough to store in the freezer. But if you’re like me and can’t resist the temptation of popping cookie dough into the oven when you’re already stuffed.. then this recipe is for you. No leftovers, just the perfect amount to enjoy yourself or to share with someone you love. You’d probably also love my single serve bananas foster too!

DOUGH – We are using unsalted butter, but if you only have salted butter simply omit the salt called for in the ingredients list below. You can use whatever type of chocolate chips you prefer. Semi-sweet, bittersweet chocolate, white chocolate, butterscotch, or even chopped baking chocolate will all work well.

Frequently Asked Questions & Expert Tips
You can split the cookies in half, totaling 4 cookies instead of two if you’d like smaller portions. If you do this, be sure to keep an eye on them in the oven as they will be done sooner in time than called for in the recipe card. I would check them at the 7-8 minute mark.
Serving Suggestions
These chocolate chip cookies are larger than a normal cookie, which means they’re great for sharing with a loved one or friend on a night in. Serve with a tall glass of milk or even a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. These are perfect to enjoy with your sweetie on Valentine’s Day!

- Be careful not to over-bake the cookies because they’ll harden more as they cool. These cookies should look light golden on the outside, but should still look a touch doughy in the center when you take them out of the oven.
- You can easily split the dough into 4 equal balls instead of two, but you will need to lower the baking time. I would check them at the 7-8 minute mark for doneness.

Just one question – why the corn starch? Only question I have as I have never used corn starch in any chocolate chip cookies I have ever made in 73 years. Thanks.

Do you pat the balls down before putting them in the oven or leave them as balls?
