This colorful glass of patriotic punch is swimming with red white and blue layers of Gatorade and cran-raspberry juice and is so easy to make for holiday parties!
Why this recipe works
Whether it’s Memorial Day, Fourth of July, or Veteran’s Day, this patriotic punch recipe is incredibly easy to make and is always fun to see at get-togethers. Serve up this drink with a colorful patriotic charcuterie board to really wow your guests.
There’s a bit of science behind this party punch. The first layer is cran-raspberry juice which has the highest sugar content, causing it to sink. The second layer, which is Gatorade Frost is the second highest in the sugar department but is still lower than the cranberry juice which helps it sit on top. Lastly, the Powerade has the lowest sugar content allowing it to sit atop the other two juices creating a fun red white and blue party drink.
However, it’s important to note that as your layered punch sits, it will inevitably begin to mingle together as you can see in some of our photos, especially if you have ice added.

Ingredient Info and Substitute Suggestions
RED LAYER– We love the taste the cran-raspberry juice adds to this patriotic punch. Hawaiian Punch, Kool Aid, or fruit punch will work as well. Keep in mind your red juice needs to have the highest sugar content for it to sink to the bottom.
WHITE LAYER – Using Gatorade Frost is what we recommend. This drink is the middle ground as far as sugar content goes.
BLUE LAYER – For your blue layer to stay on top of the other layers, you want it to be a zero-sugar drink. Powerade Zero Mixed Berry fits the bill perfectly.
