Cupid’s Cocktail Recipe
This was a really fun cocktail recipe to make. It’s got so much going on – it’s swimming with love, hearts and all things pink and red, similar to our Pink Lady Cocktail!
We added star-struck arrows (cocktail picks) with strawberries, pomegranate seeds, pink vodka ice cubes… and that was before we even started mixing the cocktail!
Of course, you can just do make the cocktail and leave out all of those fun little add-ons, but it’s Valentine’s Day – why not have some fun!
While I love my old-fashion champagne glasses which you can see in use for my Champagne Sorbet Float recipe, this champagne cocktail really benefits from being served in a flute – it allows for the bubbles to stay fresh longer and creates a nice layering of all the different cocktail components.
It’s helpful to make the vodka ice cubes and deseed the pomegranate a few hours before making the Cupid’s Cocktail – but if you forget, just skip the ice cubes.

- 16 oz champagne
- 8 oz cup grapefruit juice
- ¼ cup pomegranate seeds
- 2 oz vodka
- 6 oz water
- Pink food dye
- 2 Strawberries
Instructions
- A few hours before you plan to make the cocktails, prepare the vodka ice cubes.
- Stir 2 oz of the vodka with the water and dye to your preferred colour with the pink food dye. Pour into the heart shaped ice cubes and freeze for 4 hours or overnight.
- It's also helpful to deseed your pomegranate beforehand - my favorite method is cutting the pomegranate in half, holding it over a bowl filled 1/4 of the way with cold water and whacking the back of the pomegranate with a wooden spoon, letting the seeds drop into the water.
- When ready to serve, place your ice cubes and pomegranate seeds in your champagne flutes. Fill each with 2 oz grapefruit juice, then skewer your strawberries and place on top.
- Top with champagne and enjoy immediately.
