Ingredient Info and Substitution Suggestions
CHICKEN – You can use your favorite brand of frozen chicken nuggets here. If you want to spend extra time making your own with chicken breast, you can easily make a batch of air fryer chicken parmesan and slice it into portions small enough to fit into the slider buns.
CHEESE – If you prefer, you can leave out the shredded mozzarella cheese. We like our sandwiches extra cheesy, but the slices alone are plenty.
MARINARA – On brand with the other ingredients, store-bought marinara sauce makes the process a breeze. You can always prep your own if preferred.
BUNS – Regular store-bought slider buns work perfectly here. You can also use Kings Hawaiian slider buns, Hawaiian rolls, or make homemade Hawaiian rolls. Up to you!

Frequently Asked Questions & Expert Tips
I wouldn’t recommend making these sliders ahead of time due to the marinara and the layering process. The marinara will soak into the buns and nuggets as they sit in the refrigerator, causing them to get soggy. Luckily this recipe comes together quickly thanks to its simple ingredients so it shouldn’t take long to get them ready shortly before your get together!
Store leftovers in an air-tight container kept in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. The sliders may begin to get soggy as they sit in the refrigerator. Reheat the sliders in a 350F oven until warmed through, around 10 minutes or so. You can always add extra marinara if needed.
You can easily substitute the chicken nuggets with chicken tenders. Cook them according to package instructions just as you would with the nuggets then slice them into portions small enough to fit into each slider bun (if your tenders are fairly small you can just layer them on top of the buns in the dish and slice them before serving). Continue the rest of the recipe as stated.

Serving Suggestions
Chicken parmesan sliders were a huge hit at our last football party, but I definitely plan on making them for board game nights and even as an everyday dinner because they’re so easy to make.
Serve your sliders with french fries or tater tots, or pair with a roasted veggie for something lighter and fresher. Enjoy!

The recipes on this blog are tested with a conventional gas oven and gas stovetop. It’s important to note that some ovens, especially as they age, can cook and bake inconsistently. Using an inexpensive oven thermometer can assure you that your oven is truly heating to the proper temperature. If you use a toaster oven or countertop oven, please keep in mind that they may not distribute heat the same as a conventional full sized oven and you may need to adjust your cooking/baking times. In the case of recipes made with a pressure cooker, air fryer, slow cooker, or other appliance, a link to the appliances we use is listed within each respective recipe. For baking recipes where measurements are given by weight, please note that results may not be the same if cups are used instead, and we can’t guarantee success with that method.
