POTATO – We’re using baby red gourmet potatoes. However, Yukon gold, Russet potatoes, yellow potatoes, and baby potatoes all work well for this recipe.
COATING – A light coating of olive oil is necessary to help your seasonings stick to the potatoes. If you’d prefer, you can use oil spray instead. The seasonings are versatile and up to you what you decide to go with, but we opted for pepper, salt, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.
How to Make Air Fryer Roasted Potatoes
These step by step photos and instructions are here to help you visualize how to make this recipe. You can Jump to Recipe to get the printable version of this recipe, complete with measurements and instructions at the bottom.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375F. Preheating is not necessary, but helps crisp your potatoes better.
- Cut the potatoes into quarter wedges.
EXPERT TIP: The smaller your potato cuts, the easier your potatoes will cook. The larger they are, the more time they will need to roast. - Add to a bowl and drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with seasonings and toss with a wooden spoon.
- Add potatoes to a grate-lined air fryer basket. Cook at 375F for 12 minutes, shaking halfway through.
EXPERT TIP: Try not to overcrowd your basket as the air fryer relies on circulation to cook food evenly. This will also help your potatoes be crispier - Add additional fresh cracked pepper or sea salt flakes if desired and sprinkle with parsley.
Frequently Asked Questions
Air fryers are basically mini portable convection ovens. However, they cook food much quicker and more evenly, give a better crunch and crisp to meals, are great for smaller families or for when you’re cooking for one to two, and they don’t heat up your home on a hot summer day. Air fryers are taking recipes to a whole new level. Almost anything can be made in the air fryer including dessert, sides, dinner, and snacks. Want a main dish made in the air fryer? Try our air fryer pork chops, air fryer pork tenderloin, or air fryer chicken breasts!
You can use baby potatoes, Yukon gold or yellow potatoes, red potatoes, and Russet. These are some of the best types of potatoes to use in the air fryer.
Simply preheat your air fryer and roast leftover potatoes for 5-10 minutes. Every air fryer differs, so be sure to check your potatoes for doneness at the 5-minute mark and add more time if necessary.
You can store your leftover roasted potatoes in an air tight container kept in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. They can also be kept in the freezer in an air tight container or freezer safe bag for 6 months.
Easy air fryer roasted potatoes make the best hassle-free side dish for any night of the week. They’re cooked to a crispy golden brown and are done in much less time than traditional oven-roasted potatoes.
