Why this recipe works
Cheeseburger dip is probably something that hasn’t crossed your mind. A cheeseburger, in dip formation? Well, we love turning our favorite foods into dips. Cheeseburger dip, Philly cheesesteak dip, jalapeno popper dip… Just about anything delicious can be transformed into a hot dip if you give it a try.
This cheeseburger dip exceeded all expectations. A mixture of cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and ground beef layered into a dish with all the typical burger fixins like burger sauce, pickles, tomatoes, and bacon makes one heck of a party dip in as little as 30 minutes. We love making it for game day or get-togethers for people to snack on. Seriously good, seriously easy. Let’s get started.

Ingredient Info and Substitution Suggestions
BEEF – Lean ground beef is ideal so you don’t have to worry too much about draining off excess fat, however, you can use whatever percentage you prefer or have on hand. Just be sure to drain it well after cooking so the fat doesn’t separate when combined with the cheese mixture. You can substitute with ground turkey if preferred.
CREAM CHEESE – You’ll want to use brick-style cream cheese for this recipe.
HEAVY CREAM – If you are concerned about fat and calories, you can substitute the heavy cream with either half and half or whole milk. We don’t suggest 2% or lower as it may not have enough fat and might cause your cheese dip to be too thin.

Frequently Asked Questions & Expert Tips
Store cooled leftovers in an air-tight container kept at room temperature for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally until warmed through. You can add a small splash of heavy cream to help remoisten the dip if needed.
Yes, you can prepare the dip all the way through adding the ground beef and cream cheese mixture to a baking dish (add the remaining shredded cheese on top when ready to bake). Allow the dish to fully cool before covering and refrigerating up to a day in advance. When ready to heat and serve, allow the baking dish to sit on the counter while the oven preheats. Give the dip a good stir. Add the remaining shredded cheese and pop it in the oven as directed. You may need to bake it for closer to 15 minutes or so since it’s going in cold, keep an eye on it in the oven.
Serving Suggestions
Serve your cheeseburger dip with your favorite burger toppings. We like to top ours with pickles and a drizzle of burger sauce which is a combination of mayo, mustard, and ketchup. Other good options include chopped bacon bits, diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, and green onions.
Pair the dip with celery, carrots, french fries, Ritz crackers, or tortilla chips for dipping. You can even quarter some burger buns and use them as a dipper. Enjoy!
