If you’re here, then I can only assume you love bacon. Well-seasoned shrimp wrapped in a blanket of smokey bacon that’s brushed with a sticky savory soy sauce glaze simply makes the world a better place. You only need 6 ingredients to make these puppies and they cook up quickly in the air fryer without hassle. It’s a win-win if you ask me.

SHRIMP – If you can find grilling shrimp that is our recommendation. They hold up really well and don’t shrink as much as other varieties. However, they are a bit more expensive and sometimes harder to find, so jumbo shrimp will work in its place just fine.
BACON – Regular-cut or center-cut bacon is ideal. I wouldn’t recommend thick-cut as it can take longer to cook and is more difficult to wrap around the shrimp.
SEASONING – We used our homemade Montreal Steak seasoning for this recipe. You can use store-bought or any other seasoning of your choice.
How to Make Air Fryer Bacon Wrapped Shrimp

- Pat shrimp dry with paper towels. In two places, score through the vein on the underside of the shrimp. We scored near the head then farther down near the tail. This will help the shrimp from curling up really tight. Only score it, do not cut all the way through.
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, maple syrup, and honey.
- Place scored shrimp into a large mixing bowl and add half of the soy sauce mixture. Toss to coat.
- Season bacon with some of the Montreal Steak seasoning.
- Cut bacon slices into thirds.
- Wrap each shrimp with bacon, seasoning side in. Place on a baking sheet.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 F for 4 minutes.
- Use the remaining soy sauce mixture to brush the shrimp. Sprinkle with additional Montreal Steak seasoning.
- Spray the preheated basket with olive oil spray.
- Place shrimp into the air fryer basket, being careful not to crowd them. You will have to work in batches.
- Cook for 5 minutes then turn over. Cook an additional 5 minutes.
Frequently Asked Questions & Expert Tips
Yes, but they will need to be thawed first. Otherwise, the seasonings and bacon will slide right off. To thaw shrimp quicker, place them in a sealed ziptop bag and submerge them in cold water. I do not recommend using precooked shrimp for this recipe.
Bacon wrapped shrimp is best enjoyed right away, but if you happen to have leftovers you can store them in an air-tight container kept in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Rewarm in the air fryer using the reheat function. Keep an eye on them when reheating to avoid overcooking the shrimp.
Serving Suggestions
Serve your air fryer bacon wrapped shrimp with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing along with a dipping sauce of your choice. We personally like them with a side of ranch, barbecue, or Asian sweet chili sauce.
