Whether served hot or cold, Spinach Dip is always a welcome classic at any get-together. If you prefer your spinach dip to be of the hot, melted-cheese covered variety – this hot spinach dip is going to be your new favorite!
Why this recipe works
This hot spinach dip is a cheesy appetizer perfect for cocktails with friends, or for a treat before your meal (warning: you may spoil your appetite).
We used fresh spinach (and lots of it!) to make the dip more filling and balance out all of that (completely necessary) cheese. You can also use artichokes, but they are not completely essential because of the amount of spinach used.
In the recipe I indicate that you need to taste and season with salt and pepper – do not skip this step!
Feel free to add in whatever additional spices or seasoning you see fit. Add a dash of paprika or a bit of oregano if it seems right to you. Comforting, party-style food is all about taste so make your spinach dip suit your taste!

How To Make Hot Spinach Dip
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Place the olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Sautee the garlic and spinach until the spinach is completely wilted and the garlic is very fragrant, about 3-5 minutes.
- Stir together the cream cheese, mayonnaise, Parmesan, and 1 cup of the cheddar cheese. Add the spinach-garlic mixture and artichoke hearts. Taste and season.
- Spoon the dip into an oven-proof serving dish and cover completely with the remaining cup of cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until cheese is golden and bubbly.
This hot spinach dip is a restaurant-quality dish that is guaranteed to impress your guests – just don’t plan to have any leftovers!
