If you are a sweet and salty snack lover, we have a special treat for you today! These Pretzel Chocolate Chip Cookies are made with milk chocolate chips, browned butter and broken pretzels for the ultimate in sweet ‘n’ salty satisfaction.
Pretzel Chocolate Chip Cookies
I love my go-to brown butter chocolate chip cookie recipe, but every once in a while you just crave something a bit different. These cookies are perfect when you want something sweet and salty, and the pretzels retain their crunch even after baking.
Brown butter is made by melting butter on the stove and continuing to heat as the color changes to a caramel-brown and some milk solids start to turn almost chocolate-chocolate colored. Be sure to take the butter off the heat at this point to prevent burning. Here are more detailed instructions for browning butter if you need it. Brown butter gives baked goods a more pronounced butter flavor, but you can simply use melted butter for this recipe if you’d prefer.

Are these the crispy, crunchy kinda cookies or soft and chewy ones?
Amanda Formaro says
They are soft with a bit of a “crust” but the pretzels stay crunchy after baking so they give a crunch
Velva says
The salty sweet. combination! Delicious! These would disappear quickly.
