Sweet and salty with a bite, this salted nut roll shot combines creamy Rum Chata with butterscotch Schnapps for a deliciously smooth party shot.
Why this recipe works
A salted nut roll shot is like a mini creamy butterscotch milkshake cocktail. This shot was born out of inspiration from the Salted Nut Roll candy bar which is made from peanuts, nougat, and caramel. All you need to make it is a bit of Rum Chata, butterscotch Schnapps, and a dash of salt to coat the rim.
While the salted nut roll shot has been around for a while, I first tried it at a friend’s birthday party. Krissy is a bartender and made them for us, they are really delicious! You may have seen some versions use a mixture of peanut butter whiskey and cream but this recipe keeps it nice and simple with 2 ingredients, great for last-minute party shots.

- Pour table salt onto a small plate.
- Wet the rim of the shot glass and dip it into the table salt.
