Dill pickle dip only takes 5 minutes of prep for a deliciously creamy, super flavorful party dip that pickle lovers will go crazy over!
Why this recipe works
Creamy dill pickle dip is quick and easy. I mean, it only takes 5 minutes to whip together but the trick to it is to let it have an overnight snooze in the refrigerator to let all the flavors reach their max potential together.
We sneak pickles into everything we can, especially when it comes to party appetizers or side dishes. They complement potato salads, egg salads, ham salads… the list goes on and on! But it’s about time pickles get their very own flavored dip centered entirely around themselves.

Ingredient Info and Substitution Suggestions
DIP – You can substitute the mayonnaise with cream cheese if desired. If you go this route, be sure to let the cream cheese come to room temperature before mixing it as you need it to be soft in order to mix it into a creamy consistency. Sour cream can be substituted with Greek yogurt if needed offering a slightly different flavor profile.
PICKLES – It doesn’t matter whether you use pickle chips, pickle spears, or whole pickles because they will be chopped up – though I would recommend spears or whole pickles over chips so the chopped chunks are a bit thicker for texture purposes. You can use your favorite type of pickle for this recipe. However, this is a dill pickle dip, and added fresh dill weed boosts the flavor even more. You might consider changing up the seasonings if you want to use sweet pickles for example.

Frequently Asked Questions & Expert Tips
Store homemade dill pickle dip in an air-tight container kept in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Yes, you can serve it right away but for best results and ultimate flavor, I would suggest making it the night before. The longer it sits, the more time all the flavors have to mingle together, especially when you’re using fresh herbs. If you are stretched on time, 2 hours in the refrigerator should still offer up a flavorful dip.
Serving Suggestions
You can serve dill pickle dip with carrots, celery, bell peppers, sugar snap peas, or cherry tomatoes or go the crunchy/salty route with pretzels, potato chips, crackers, or pita chips. If you’re bringing this along to a barbecue or party it’s always nice to offer options! Bump it up a notch and serve it with some dill pickle flavored potato chips to go the extra mile.

We love Dill Pickle Dip! Very hard to find the store-bought kind anymore though. I will certainly be making this. Might try it with Miracle Whip as I’m not much of a fan of mayo. Thanks for posting this recipe.
