Chocolate Chip Blondies

Last week I got my hands on a copy of Taste of Home’s new cookbook and my daughter requested that I make the Chocolate Chip Blondies (pg. 668). I was out of semi-sweet chocolate chips but did have a bag of peanut butter & milk chocolate chips, so I substituted.

They were very yummy and I ended up having to hide them so hubby could have a couple when he got home from work. Otherwise those growing kids of mine would have gobbled them all up for sure! The peanut butter and milk chocolate substitution worked great, I would imaging any flavor chip would be good.

Chocolate Chip Blondies

Ingredients:
1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine the brown sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla just until blended. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; add to brown sugar mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.

Spread into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into bars. Yield: 3 dozen.

Wow, these are great, and so easy to pull together. My new favorite of this – I had a chocolate chip bar cookie recipe that was my fave, but this has now replaced it. Love that it’s all brown sugar, too! I just really like brown sugar.

I found you through Cookie Madness, I was looking at her blondie recipe and saw your comment. I’m so glad you mentioned it! Thanks!

I wonder why it is that putting anything in the sunlight makes it look 10x yummier than before?
