How to Make Cheeseburger Sliders

- Preheat oven to 350°. Spray a 9-inch by 13-inch pan with nonstick spray.
- In a medium-sized bowl mix the sausage, hamburger meat, and salad dressing mix. Press meat mixture evenly in the bottom of the 9-inch by 13-inch pan.
- Place in the oven and bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and heat oven to 375°.
- While meat is cooking, slice the onion in half and cut into thin half onion slices. Separate slices and place them in a skillet. Pour olive oil and 2 Tablespoons of butter over onions. Cook over medium-low heat, until onions get translucent. Add the balsamic vinegar, sugar, garlic salt, and seasoning salt and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes to carmelize the onions.
- Spray a separate 9-inch by 13-inch pan with nonstick spray. Cut the rolls in half and place the bottom half in the pan.
- In a small bowl, mix the dijon mustard and onion powder, then spread over the rolls in the pan.
- Place hot meat over the mustard.
- Layer the cheddar cheese over meat in two layers. Layer the pepper jack over the cheddar.
- Spread the caramelized onions over the cheese.
- Place the top of the rolls back on and spread the remaining butter over tops. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Cover rolls with aluminum foil and place in the oven for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, remove foil and bake an additional 5 minutes until tops are slightly browned and cheese is melted.
- Serve immediately.

Cheeseburger sliders are best when they are fresh, however, if you’d like to make them ahead of time prepare steps 1-10, cover, and keep in fridge for up to 3 days. Remove from fridge and let sit for 20 minutes. Cover with aluminum foil then place in oven for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, remove the foil and bake an additional 5 minutes or until tops are browned and cheese is melted. You may need additional time if you are baking them after being chilled.

- 2 tsp balsamic vinegar

- ½ tsp garlic salt
- ½ tsp seasoning salt
- 5 Tbsp butter divided
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 12 Hawaiian dinner rolls 1 package, or other dinner rolls
- 1 Tbsp dijon mustard heaping
- ½ tsp onion powder
- 12 slices cheddar cheese
- 6 slices pepper jack cheese
- 2 Tbsp sesame seeds
