This delicious casserole combines the flavors of your favorite pizza with the textures of your favorite pasta. I used rotini pasta because I think the spirals are perfect for grabbing and holding sauce. Ziti would work well too as would mostaccioli. If you aren’t a sausage fan, you can leave it out, but I love sausage and won’t eat pizza without it!
This is a great family meal no matter what age your kids are. Teenagers will especially love having their favorite flavors baked into a casserole. Great for weeknight meals, assemble ahead and then throw in the oven when you get home.
Serve with a fresh salad and some baked bread, or better yet some garlic bread! I’ve always been partial to this One Hour Homemade Bread or this Homemade French Bread. Come to think of it, these Gooey Garlic Cheese Rolls or these Parmesan Garlic Rolls would be perfect with this!
Cook the pasta according to package directions and drain. Return the pasta to the pot. Meanwhile, in a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage; drain.
Add the sausage and spaghetti sauce to the pasta and stir to combine.
Stir in the Parmesan cheese and half of the pepperoni slices.
Spread pasta mixture into a lightly greased 9-by-13-inch pan, or if you have it, a 3 quart casserole.
Top with the mozzarella cheese. Arrange remaining half of pepperoni slices over top. Bake for 20 minutes, until cheese is bubbly.

Oh my goodness! This was really good. I used low fat ground beef and added taco seasoning. I also sautéed onion and added that. I used a whole jar of tomato pasta sauce, but it was a little dry. I’m not sure if that was equal to the four cups or not, but I’ll definitely use more next time. So yummy!! Thanks for the recipe. :)
