I love marinades and rubs. Whenever I see a recipe for a marinade that has ingredients that I like, I’ll usually give it a shot. Chicken is especially good once it has soaked in a marinade for several hours. Make sure you wipe off the excess marinade before placing the meat on the grill, otherwise it’ll just burn the marinade Read More »
Juicy chicken, full of marinated flavor, and cooked on the grill to perfection. A great way to usher in spring, welcoming the warm weather by heading out to dust off your grill. This recipe is excellent in cold weather too, especially if you are a winter griller like me. The marinade is simple, and actually very similar to this lemon juice Read More »
I somehow ended up on Martha’s site the other day looking for recipes on the grill. Yes, yes, I know it’s fall people, but I love my grill and use it whenever I can, even in the snow! I printed off oodles and oodles of different recipes, but settled on this mouth watering marinated chicken as my first pick. I Read More »

I’m a chicken person. I’m also a chicken person that likes her barbecue grill, warm weather, cold weather, doesn’t matter. Hubby isn’t real hip on chicken, unless it’s slathered in barbecue sauce. This particular recipe is great marinated then grilled, but it’s also a great candidate for slopping on some barbecue sauce for persnickety husbands. See? Everybody wins. :) I Read More »
This was an all day affair. Similar to when I put together a dinner from Julia Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking. This time I used a marinade I found at Kalyn’s Kitchen , the Tomato Fritters are from About.com, the salad from the book The Diabetic Chef : More Than 80 Simple but Spectacular Recipes from One of New Read More »
I hope you aren’t getting tired of seeing dishes I’ve made from Julia Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking. It’s actually quite addicting once you get started. I’m continuously surprised by how delicious each recipe has been, and even more so, I’m pleased that this book uses ingredients that I have readily available. The best part? I’ve learned that Read More »
Moms are busy. Kids, pets, football practice, dance class, piano lessons, grocery shopping, doctor’s appointments, laundry, house cleaning, bill paying, and if you are like me, you work too! :) I work from home, so my schedule is flexible, allowing me to bake and make things from scratch, a luxury I do appreciate, considering I worked outside of the home Read More »
If you read this blog regularly, you already know that I buy my beef by the side from the local farmer. This time I had it cut a little differently and that gave me quite a few packages of cubed steaks. Sure I could make chicken fried steak, but again, if you’ve been reading this blog for a while you Read More »
I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to post this. I tried this Carne Asada Taco recipe posted by my blogging friend Pam over at For the Love of Cooking. She also posted this tasty Roasted Tomato Salsa and Onion, Lime & Cilantro Relish. She also has a Guacamole recipe over there that I haven’t tried yet. This carne Read More »

Tonight for dinner was Spicy Oven Fried Chicken, a recipe I found on FamilyCorner.com years ago. I saved it forever in my recipe printouts and finally pulled it out to make it. I think a very important step is to marinate for the amount suggested, I put mine in the marinade this morning. You could really taste the spice in Read More »
