16ouncecan large biscuitswe used Pillsbury Grands, 8 biscuits
2Tablespoonsbutter
½teaspoongarlic powder
½teaspoonItalian seasoning
2Tablespoonschopped fresh parsley
3Tablespoonsfinely grated Parmesan
1cuppizza sauce
Instructions
Heat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.TIP - If you line your baking sheet with parchment, you will be able to lift the entire tree bread off the baking sheet and onto a waiting platter or cutting board.
Cut each cheese stick into 4 pieces to make 32 pieces.
Separate dough into 8 biscuits. Cut each biscuit into fourths for a total of 32 biscuit pieces. Roll each piece into a ball.
Push a piece of cheese into a dough ball, pinch the seams together and then roll into a ball again.
Place biscuit balls seam side down and next to each other to form a tree shape on the cookie sheet.
Melt butter in the microwave then stir in the garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Brush butter mixture over the biscuit balls.
Bake 15-17 minutes or until golden brown. You can turn the oven to broil and brown the tops for a minute or so if you like.
Sprinkle the top of the "tree" with fresh parsley and parmesan cheese.
Warm pizza sauce in the microwave and serve alongside Christmas tree pull apart bread.
One cup of sauce is probably plenty, but you can certainly put out more just in case!
We use large canned biscuits, but crescent rolls would probably work as well. This recipe reminds me of my favorite pull apart dinner rolls, so you could always use that recipe instead!
Jarred marinara or pizza sauce work just fine, but I'm partial to my homemade pizza sauce for this recipe.
Cheese sticks make this recipe really easy. Use your favorite flavor! You can substitute with a cubed block of cheese if preferred.
