These beautiful strawberry white chocolate hot cocoa bombs are the perfect edible gift for Valentine's Day or to serve as a favor at a baby shower, birthday, or bridal shower!
Make the strawberry mix by combining equal parts powdered strawberry drink mix and powdered milk (1/2 cup of each).
Melt white chocolate in the double boiler.
Spoon melted chocolate into mold and coat the entire mold using the back of a small spoon.
Allow chocolate to set up in the molds (If desired, speed up this process by placing molds in freezer for several minutes).
Once it has hardened, gently press chocolate spheres out of molds.
Rotate bottom half of bomb on a warm plate to smooth edges.
Fill the bottom half with 1/4 cup strawberry mixture, several freeze dried strawberries and mini marshmallows.
Rotate top half of sphere on a warm plate to smooth edges and gently press two halves together. The slightly melted edge will seal the two halves.
Decorate tops by piping melted white chocolate from a pastry bag and sprinkle with strawberry dust, shaved white chocolate and/or sprinkles.
Enjoy your strawberry bombs by placing bomb in a mug and pouring hot water or milk over it.
Notes
We recommend using white chocolate in bar form, or even white chocolate chips instead of almond bark or candy melts*
If you use a smaller hot cocoa bomb mold, you can get around 8 half spheres totaling 4 hot cocoa bombs. Easily double or triple this recipe to your desired amount of hot chocolate bombs!
If you don't have a double boiler you can boil water in a pan with a lid upside down then put a bowl on top of the lid, this will work the same as a double boiler. We prefer this method for melting white chocolate, as white chocolate is notorious for burning in the microwave.
