A properly made espresso martini is rich and bold in all of its coffee-flavored decadence. This cocktail is an all-in-one that can be enjoyed as an after dinner drink or served as a dessert cocktail paired with something sweet on the side.
2ouncesespressoor cold brew concentrate, about 1/2 cup
1ounce vodka
3/4ounceKahluaor other coffee liqueur
Garnish
3whole espresso or coffee beans
Instructions
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the espresso, vodka, and Kahlua. Shake well until chilled. Shaking will help create the frothy layer on top.
Strain into a martini glass and garnish with 3 coffee or espresso beans. Enjoy!
Notes
Don't be afraid to shake the martini in the cocktail shaker well. This will help create the frothy layer on top.
You can add a small amount of simple syrup to sweeten the drink a bit if desired.
Brew espresso in a machine and allow it to chill in either the freezer (be careful with glass cups), in the refrigerator, or at room temperature to take the heat off before adding to the other ingredients. You can also use cold brew concentrate in place of espresso. I do not recommend using instant espresso for this recipe.
