dipping sauceoptional; chocolate, caramel, dolce de leche, Nutella
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
1/2cupgranulated sugar
1tspground cinnamon
Instructions
Line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper and spray lightly with cooking spray.
In a medium saucepan, over medium-high heat, heat the water, butter, sugar, and salt until butter is completely melted and the mixture comes to a boil.
Reduce the heat to low, add in the flour and mix continuously with a wooden spoon until the dough forms and is smooth.
Remove from heat and allow the dough to cool for 5 minutes, then add eggs and whisk until mixture is smooth with no lumps. Dough will be sticky.
Transfer to a piping bag fitted with a closed star tip.
Pipe dough into 4-inch lengths onto the prepared cookie sheet. Pop into the freezer for about 30 minutes or until the dough is easy to handle
Spray the Air Fryer with cooking spray and pre-heat to 375°F.
Carefully transfer piped churro dough into the Air fryer basket and cook for 8-10 minutes, until golden brown. Depending on the size of the Air Fryer, you may have to do this in batches.
In a medium shallow bowl, mix sugar with cinnamon.
Once churros are done, immediately coat with cinnamon sugar whilst still hot.
Serve warm with your choice of dipping sauce.
Notes
It's important to note that every air fryer is different, therefore the time to cook may differ from ours. Test one churro first to find your perfect cook time.
If needed, reheat churros in a preheated Air Fryer at 375 °F for 2-3 mins
Make sure there is enough space between the churros. Do not overcrowd the Air Fryer.
To work faster, you could transfer the dough to a mixing bowl before adding the eggs and whisk with an electric hand mixer
The amount of churros you get depends on the size you make.
