Ingredients

  • 5 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • Reddi Whip whipped topping
  • Multi colored sprinkles
  • Red gel food coloring
  • Vanilla frosting 1 store-bought tub
  • 1/2 cup milk

For the Elmo Cookies

  • package of refrigerated Pillsbury sugar cookies
  • Vanilla or white frosting you should be able to use the same tub as you use for the milkshake glasses
  • Red gel food coloring
  • Edible candy eyeballs
  • Butterscotch hard candies

Instructions

  • First, make your sugar cookies. Let them cool, and decorate. See link in post for full instructions on cookies.
  • Frost the outside rim of your milkshake glasses with vanilla frosting.
  • Pour out sprinkles onto parchment paper or a shallow dish. Dip the rim of the glasses into the sprinkles so it's coated.
  • Now, sprinkle remaining sprinkles onto the frosted part of your glass. Place your milkshake glasses in the freezer to give them a quick chill- this holds the frosting and sprinkles in place so it doesn't slide off the glass.
  • Add your 5 scoops of vanilla ice cream and 1/2 cup milk to a blender.
  • Then add your red gel food coloring to the blender as well. It's best to add a small amount at first, and if you are unhappy with the color outcome, add a little more.
  • Pour your Elmo freak shake mixture into your chilled glasses. Add whip cream to the top. Then, add more sprinkles if desired.
  • Add your Elmo cookies to the top of your milkshake (place in the middle). Don't forget a cute striped straw!
