It’s not too often that I get to hang out with my best friend, Tamme. Sure we talk all the time on the phone, we text back and forth and occasionally spend 30 minutes together over a cup of coffee, but that’s about it these days. Tamme’s off of work for a bit as she just had knee surgery, so I asked her if she wanted to head over to Chili’s to try their new CoronaRita!
The picture above was taken with my new camera, it has a cartoon filter on it. Cool huh? You can actually watch it in action above too! It was really nice to be able to hang out. We just never seem to find the time for that anymore! We decided to go during a quiet time, around 2:00 PM. The lunch rush was gone and there was still plenty of time before the dinner rush would hit. It was an ideal time to go!
Neither one of us wanted to fill up with a meal so soon before dinner, so we decided to order a couple of appetizers. We ordered the Classic Nachos and the Hot Spinach & Artichoke Dip. Man was it good! I’m not a heavy drinker, but I do enjoy a cocktail. If I do partake I almost always have to have something to munch on while sipping. The chips, salsa, guacamole, and artichoke dip were a perfect pairing with the CoronaRitas!

The CoronaRita at Chili’s is a new menu item. It’s a margarita made with Jose Cuervo Especial Tequila with a bottle of Corona suspended upside down.

While Tamme isn’t really a margarita drinker, she LOVED it and gave it two thumbs up! You can leave the Corona bottle upside down and sip your margarita until the level gets low, then gently lift the bottle to release more, or release it earlier, whatever you like. Definitely different and a perfect match with our Mexican themed appetizers.

I have to say that the staff at Chili’s in MCHenry, Illinois were fabulous. As I mentioned, Tamme had knee surgery, so we requested a booth so she could elevate her leg. While we were eating the restaurant manager came out and chatted, asking about Tamme’s leg. Later the bartender stopped by and asked the same thing. He let me snap a picture of him with my cartoon filter on my camera. Ha ha! Everyone was really nice and attentive. Thank you Chili’s in McHenry for a great afternoon!

As you can see from this Instagram shot, we really put a hurtin’ on our appetizer plates! They definitely hit the spot.

There were these nifty little video tablet things at the table. They were called Ziosks and displayed the different desserts available. Ooohhhhh. Mmmmm! We passed, but it was hard! At least I’ll know to save room for my next visit. :) It was so nice to get out and hang with my besty!

Do you know if the coronarita bottle holders are available anywhere or are the exclusive to Chilis ? I would love to get ahold of a few for my backyard
Hi Eddie. That I don’t know, but I would think you could call or stop in to your local Chili’s and ask the manager or the bartender. I’m sure they could answer that question! Also, I did a quick google search for “coronarita bottle holder” and there were quite a few for sale on eBay!
