I have sooooo much work to do today that this post is going to be short and sweet. I was impatient with my cream, so it didn’t set up right and I burned my meringue. LOL
How’s that for short?
I’m sure it was a lovely pie, but my crust wasn’t done all the way and because the recipe specified a number of limes (for the zest) instead of an actual measurement (teaspoons, tablespoons, etc), I think mine ended up with too much zest. It was too tart for me. Oh well, down the Insinkerator it went, can’t win them all!
Isn’t my new deep dish pie plate pretty though? ;) If you would like to see the recipe you can visit this week’s host, Linda of Tender Crumb.

I have always had a problem with meringues…though I think yours is quite pretty! Sounds like a delicious pie :)
I'm so sorry Amanda ! Ours was great !
Well, bummer! Sorry about that Amanda.
Nice pie plate!

I ma sure it will be great next time Amanda
For starters, your pie LOOKS good. And I do LOVE that pie plate. LOVE IT. Sorry you had to dump the pie. I'm glad I went with the 1/2 cup lime juice, that and I'm glad I made ice cream out of my lime cream! ;)
OH! What a bummer – too much lime, I guess, would be a bad thing. Sorry to hear that it didn't work out for you.
Hi Amanda!
Strangely enough, mine wasn't tart enough! I think it may have to do with the fact that I made cupcakes instead of an actual pie! ;)
Yours look great and I wouldn't mind a slice of it, regardless.
Sorry it was too tart for you. I love the new pie plate though!
at least i wasn't the only one that burnt the meringue! your pie looks great regardless!
Your pie looks beautiful!
I'm sorry, it was too tart for you – I used 1/2 cup lime juice!
I just joined the Food Bloggers! Woo hoo! I am special!
Too bad about the pie, but yes that is a pretty dish! I noticed it right away. I agree about having exact measurements – so much more helpful than hoping that you have the right size fruit.
I really love that first picture of the pie Amanda, it's so pretty! maybe you can make it again when life isn't so darn hectic , yeah I know …when will that be right!!! LOL!!
I think your pie plate is so pretty and I think your pie is very pretty as well! Sorry it didn't work out, but I hope the insinkerator enjoyed it! :)
That is ONE NICE LOOKING PIE! Wow, everything is perfect, including the pie plate! Love your meringue… I'm jealous! :)
I'm sorry to hear that this wasn't a success for you. By looks alone your pie looks beautiful in your new pie pan.
Thanks for baking along with me Amanda!
You know what I like most about your site, you're real and your recipes don't always turn out perfect, like the rest of us, and you're not afraid to tell us that, hats off to you for being yourself. Your're pie plate is gorgeous though! Thanks for all your work.
Laura
You did an amazing job, and your meringue looks good enough to me! :) I didnt get to make it this week since we are all sicky but I am def making it soon!
Wow, great looking pie!
This is purdy! The meringue doesn't look burnt…just toasty! ;)
Love the look of your pie. Your pictures are gorgeous!
too bad this one didn't work out for you. Maybe next week's will be better.
Pretty plate, tho'.
Sorry you didn't like it Amanda – it looks absolutely perfect. And I adore your pretty pie plate :)
Your pie looks great! Too bad the taste wasn't to your liking.
Thanks for the compliments on the pie plate everyone, I am giving it quite the work out! LOL
Hey, I love the pie plate too!
Also, try the marshmallow cream meringue. I think you'll like it.
My eye went straight to that pie plate, so pretty! The meringue topping looks lovely too, sorry this didn't work out so well for you.
I think the golden brown color on top is pretty! Looks great!
oh, tragic! for what it's worth i think your meringue looks pretty…i love the little dark tips!
No! But it looks so pretty. Sorry it wasn't a bigger success for you.
