TWD: Tiramisu Cake

If you missed my interview with Dorie Greenspan click here!

I made this cake a few weeks ago and decided right then and there that Tiramisu Cake would be the recipe I would select if my turn ever came up. However, Megan of My Baking Adventures beat me to it and chose it for this week’s entry in Tuesdays with Dorie. That’s ok because 1) it’s fabulous and 2) that means I need to look through Dorie Greenspan’s Baking From My Home to Yours to choose another. :)

I was craving tiramisu. I’ve never actually made traditional tiramisu myself so I saved several recipes to try. I came across Dorie’s Tiramisu Cake and just knew I had to try it. I am so glad that I did! All of the flavors of tiramisu in a homemade cake batter baked to perfection.

I didn’t play around as some of the other TWD bakers did, I stuck with the recipe, but now that I know how easy it is next time I will try cupcakes or maybe a smaller cake so I’m not so tempted to eat tiramisu for breakfast, lunch and dinner! :)

This cake could not have been more gorgeous.

It’s good chilled, but definitely better left at room temperature. The flavors mingle and melt right in your mouth. Another decadent treat from the fabulous Dorie Greenspan! I also plan to try David Lebovitz’s tiramisu parfaits as they look completely amazing.

Your cake looks absolutely fantastic. I was just telling my hubby that the cake tasted richer last night. I think it was cause we ate it cold this morning that it did not have the same taste. Then, I read your blog and bam, there it was, better at room temp! Your cocoa dusting is perfect. I rarely try such things, cause I tend to clump!
